BWC INSTAGRAM

BWC’s instagram page started with student writing, along with some prompts here and there. I came up with the line: write in the comments, we’ll share your story, in our stories. And we began reposting people’s comments in our stories. People had the sensation of being published. We increased followers in this way and established that the Instagram was going to be a second leg of the brand, a place where you could go to write if you weren’t in class.

Community is the draw for the brand. The writing you produce in class is a byproduct. During our retreats we photograph our writers, we then share their writing + a description of what they are working on. Writers just want to hear how others did it, or are doing it.

We asked BWC students to narrate their journey with us. I created reels based on what they told me.
